In June 2024, we published the following articles:
- The French Ministry of Agriculture praised the Tommates project, initiated by the Sonito and which aim is to recreate a modern French processing tomato industry within an agro-ecological framework.
- In Italy, the Food Union and Confagricoltura signed an alliance, thereby creating the Mediterranea association. Its goals are to promote the Mediterranean diet, to integrate supply chains, to ensure sustainability of production and to improve the efficiency of logistics networks and storage systems.
- Tomato Paste Prices, June 2024: USA, Spain, Portugal, Italy, China and Chile.
- Oxbo acquired Westside Equipment Company in 2023. Westside's tomato harvesters have now adopted the Oxbo branding.
- Prices for international freight have risen significantly since last year, and they are likely to rise again in the second semester.

- Kagome launched a dedicated powder plant. One of their new products is the LycoFibre tomato powder, made from tomato skin, and suitable for pet food applications.
- The processing tomato sector in Hungary is now regaining competitiveness, thanks to Univer investments, the establishment of its own reference farm, the creation of the irrigation development consortium, and 60 years of academic research from the Institute of Horticultural Sciences of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
- BASF launched a video mini-series dedicated to industrial tomatoes, featuring interviews with BASF experts.
- World consumption study of tomato products shows a reduction in processed quantities, after the boost of the pandemic.

- In Malta, Magro brothers Ltd is investing 12.5 million euros in Gozo in order to double its production capacity in table sauces, and has set up 2 subsidiary companies, in the UK and in Ireland.
- Kraft Heinz Canada and Highbury Canco have extended their partnership agreement for another 4 years. The Leamington factory should produce some of Kraft Heinz most popular products, for an estimated retail value of more than $1 billion.

- The Pakistani National Foods Ltd embarked on a project "Seed to Table" in order to fortify the tomato value chain and reshape the agricultural sector. They formed meaningful partnerships with farm management companies, a weather advisory services provider and their tomato processor.
- ANICAV and the POs of the Central and Southern Italy basin have signed an Agreement on price for this coming season.
- The tomato products market in Latin America is expected to continue growing at a rate of 3.8% in the next years.
- The acquisition of the Sovos Brands business by Campbell Soup Co. boosted financial results in the third quarter.
- German foreign purchases slowed down in 2023, after a sharp rise during the pandemic. Nevertheless, expenditure has risen once again.
- Prices of Canned Tomatoes, June 2024: Italy, Spain, USA, Greece, Portugal.
- Based on the current agreements, the processing tomato price went down after 2 years of considerable increase. It is however still above the 2022 price.
- In Italy, Coldiretti's activists protested against a tomato paste shipment from China in the port of Salerno.
- Kraft Heinz met the Ministry of Agriculture in Egypt to discuss increasing investments.
