Italy: Casalasco signs an agreement with AINPO and ASIPO at 150 Euros/mT

In the past few hours, the agreement for the price of processing tomato has been signed between Casalasco and the two major OP of Northern Italy, A.In.PO. and As.I.P.O., which fixes the price of processing tomatoes at 150 Euros per ton.

"In a climate of profound uncertainty in the agricultural world which, in addition to the increase in production costs, has to face the enormous water crisis already underway – declares the President of Casalasco Paolo Voltini – it was necessary to give concrete answers".

“It was now unacceptable – continues the President of Asipo Pierluigi Arata – to proceed with the transplanting activities without having a reference on the price. For too many weeks, months, it was necessary to give stability and guarantees to an increasingly strategic sector for the local economy".

Filippo Arata, President of AINPO concludes by saying "The agreement with Casalasco gives a positive perspective to the sector and above all guarantees a fair distribution of value along the entire supply chain".
