According to the figures collected by PTAB regarding the 2022 California processing tomato harvest, 817,838 metric tonnes (mT) (901,512 short tons (sT)) were delivered to the factories for week ten (ending September 10th). Week eleven (ending September 17th) is estimated to be 827,909 mT (912,614 sT) which would bring the year-to-date total to an estimated 7,208,273 mT (7,945,761 sT).
For actual tons delivered through week nine (5.562 million mT), California is tracking below (-17.7%) the five year average (6.755 million mT). Data collected by PTAB show that YTD solids amount to 5.39 compared to 5.32 for the same time period in the 2021 season or 0.07 higher. There were 238,268 loads delivered as of September 3, 2022, or 23,877 less than in 2021 for same time period (see also our related articles below).
