The harvest season started at the same time as last year, with an important quantity of organic tomatoes. Figures collected by the PTAB show that California processing tomato deliveries are now decreasing.
For week twelve (ending September 19th) PTAB is estimating 751,797 metric tonnes (t) (828,714 short tons) were delivered to the factories. Week thirteen (ending September 26th) is estimated to be 725,790 t (800,047 short tons) which would bring the year-to-date total to an estimated 8,368,840 t (9,225,067 short tons).
The 2026 California Organic processing tomato deliveries for the week eleven (ending September 12th) were 27,725 t (30,582 short tons).
If the weekly projections come true, the projected quantities on September 26 would represent approximately 92.2% of the California processors’ target (9.072 million t) and would be 8.96% below the average quantities delivered on the same date last year, and 2.15% below the average quantities delivered in the last 5 years.
