Bulgarian tomato processor Balkan for Food Industries Ltd. is taking a significant step forward in its operational capabilities by expanding beyond industrial bulk supply into finished retail and food service formats.

On 15 September 2026, the company officially marked the next phase of this development by signing a Project Launch Protocol with Italian processing equipment specialist CFT S.p.A. at its primary manufacturing facility in Pazardzhik, Bulgaria. The meeting brought together key executive leadership from both companies, including Eng. Muhanned Al-Nuaimi, Chairman of Euro Investment Holding, Eng. Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, CEO of Balkan for Food Industries, Aldo Bardulla, Sales Director at CFT, and Francesco Piazza, CFT Regional Sales Manager.

The strategic partnership centers on the installation of a new state-of-the-art repacking line engineered by CFT, featuring an operational processing capacity of 2 tonnes per hour. Scheduled to launch commercially in March 2027, the line is set to broaden Balkan’s product portfolio across retail, HoReCa, and export channels.

Through this investment, the Pazardzhik plant will package a full spectrum of tomato derivatives—including paste, puree, passata, crushed pulp, and ready-to-use sauces—into diverse consumer and professional packaging formats. Retail offerings will feature glass jars ranging from 470 ml to 720 ml and cans from 400 g up to 5 kg, while industrial and food service demand will be met with Bag-in-Box (BIB) solutions. This shift toward value-added consumer packaging reinforces the ongoing modernization of Balkan’s Bulgarian processing footprint and strengthens its position in regional and international markets.
