New structure and updated graphics
The new website of the Pomodoro Nord Italia interbranch organization, which brings together economic players of the processing tomato sector in northern Italy, is online and accessible on www.oipomodoronorditalia.it.
Developed by a Parmesan agency – the new site aims to maintain a constant flow of information about current events relevant to the sector in northern Italy.
“We have equipped ourselves with a new structure and a new graphic presentation – announced Tiberio Rabboni, President of the IO – more in line with modern means of communication, complementing traditional press and television media, and sharing social information. All this will allow better communication with stakeholders and the various media, to give visibility to the consolidated activity of the IO within the sector."

The home page of the site gives a lot of space to IO press releases and news from the world of tomatoes. The site also offers sections devoted to the structure and work of the IO, to the context affecting the sector (regulations and sectoral policies, environmental sustainability, integrated and organic production), to the presentation of annual operational data (planted surfaces, production, finished products, etc.) and to the presentation of the various missions undertaken by the IO (three-year programs, conferences and events, varietal tests, experiments and planning, linked in particular to rural development plans).

The IO partners with and supports 13 producers’ organizations (which includes around 2 000 growers) and 25 processing plants (owned by 20 different companies), for a planted area of processing tomatoes that covers around 36 000 hectares each year and with processed quantities of around 2.5 million tonnes of raw tomatoes per year in northern Italy.
