In May, the new "Passata de Tomate Pomì" puree was nominated by Sofi™ to compete for the "New Product Award Winner" in the sauces category at the Summer Fancy Food expo 2023, to be held in New York from June 25 to 27. Judging will take place June 25-26, 2023, and winners for these categories will be announced June 27, 2023

The Specialty Food Association's (SFA) Sofi™ Awards, which have been presented annually in the US since 1972, are a prestigious distinction in the USD 175 billion specialty food industry.

The Sofi™ Awards 2023 are given in recognition of winning products in each of the 53 food and beverage categories. Each brand and product is judged "blind" on taste, appearance, texture and aroma, ingredient quality and innovation. Nearly 2,000 products were entered into the 2023 competition.

Christian Villani
"Receiving the Sofi™ 'New Product Award' for the new tomato puree is concrete testimony to the hard work and innovation that has always distinguished the Pomì brand," says Cristiano Villani, CEO of Pomi USA Inc. "We're proud of our new product and sustainable plant-based packaging. Pomì wants to provide its consumers in the United States not only with the best of Italian tomatoes, but also with sustainable products that respect the environment as much as possible."
The packaging is mainly made of paper, a natural, renewable resource that is FSC® certified to ensure responsible forest management. The protective layers and cap are made from plant-based materials (sugar cane).

Pomì awarded for its brand identity
In April, Pomì, an 100% Italian brand of tomato puree and pulp, also won an award for its "Pomì Packaging Restyling" project at the 2023 Touchpoint Awards Identity event organized in Milan by the Oltre La Media Group on April 20.
In early 2023, Pomì presented a complete rebranding to seal its 40th anniversary with a new logo, new packaging and a renewed design system.

The pack, designed by Saatchi & Saatchi (Publicis Group), offers a simplified yet direct, high-impact presentation to create a contemporary style while retaining the codes of the past, with the timeless slogan "O Così. O Pomì." being the protagonist and ultimate synthesis of the unique and inimitable style of Pomì tomato products.

Losing the shadow and the green accent, the new logo is minimalist. The aim is to renew the reputation of a brand that not only appeals to today's purchasing managers, but is also winning over a younger target of future consumers.

The new pack has been available on Italian shelves since February 2023.
