The harvest season started a few days earlier than in previous years, with small quantities of organic tomatoes. As the 2024 season draws to a close, PTAB figures show that California processing tomato deliveries are reaching the end, with the year-to-date total now well under the five-year average to date.

For week seventeen (ending October 26th) PTAB is estimating 16,093 metric tonnes (t) (17,739 short tons) were delivered to the factories. Week eighteen (ending November 2nd) is estimated to be 1,965 t (2,166 short tons), which would bring the year-to-date total to an estimated 9,998,983 t (11,021,992 short tons).

If the weekly projections come true, the projected quantities on November 2nd would represent approximately 100.2% of the newly revised California processors' target (9.98 million t) and would be 5.5% below the average quantities delivered on the same date over past five years.
