The harvest season started at the same time as last year, with small quantities of organic tomatoes. Figures collected by the PTAB show that California processing tomato deliveries are approaching the peak.

For week eight (ending August 24th) PTAB is estimating 952,139 metric tonnes (t) (1,049,554 short tons) were delivered to the factories. Week nine (ending August 31st) is estimated to be 959,487 t (1,057,653 short tons) which would bring the year-to-date total to an estimated 5,812,772 t (5,407,487 short tons). 

The 2025 California Organic processing tomato deliveries for the week seven (ending August 17th) were 24,728 t (27,258 short tons). 

If the weekly projections come true, the projected quantities on August 24 would represent approximately 52% of the California processors’ target (9.34 million t) and would be 12.6% above the average quantities delivered on the same date over past five years.
