California: Weekly tonnage as of 17 August 2025
The harvest season started at the same time as last year, with small quantities of organic tomatoes. Figures collected by the PTAB show that California processing tomato deliveries are reaching the peak.
For week seven (ending August 17th) PTAB is estimating 918,806 metric tonnes (t) (1,012,810 short tons) were delivered to the factories. Week eight (ending August 24th) is estimated to be 962,588 t (1,061,072 short tons) which would bring the year-to-date total to an estimated 4,862,253 t (5,359,717 short tons).

The 2025 California Organic processing tomato deliveries for the week six (ending August 10th) were 29,523 t (32,543 short tons).

If the weekly projections come true, the projected quantities on August 17 would represent approximately 41.8% of the California processors’ target (9.34 million t) and would be 12.8% above the average quantities delivered on the same date over past five years.
