California: final tonnage for 2025

The harvest season started at the same time as last year, with small quantities of organic tomatoes. The total duration of the campaign was 18 weeks, 2 weeks more than last year.

The PTAB released the last figures for the 2025 season in California. As of November 1^st, the official number is 10,537,041 tons (11,615,099 short tons). The 2025 figure is 5.9% more than last year and 1.3% less than the average of the last 5 years.

The total organic production this year was 545.243 tonnes (601.027 short tons). The percentage of organic production, compared to the overall production, was 5.2%, which is above the average of the last 5 years (5%).

The first 12 counties in California represent 96.5% of the total production. With a total of 7.2 million tons, Fresno, Yolo, Kings and Merced account for more than 63,7% of this year’s production.
