Weekly crop intake still below 900,000 short tons

For the week ending August 7, PTAB is projecting 752,243 metric tonnes (829,207 short tons) which is slightly less than the previous week of 759,757 metric tonnes (837,489 short tons). The following week (ending August 14) the tons are only expected to rise to 778,509 metric tonnes (858,160 short tons). This is concerning that the crop through mid August has yet to reach 900,000 weekly short tons, let alone one million short tons.

For week ending July 31, California will have processed 363,039 metric tonnes (400,182 short tons) of organic tomatoes. Unlike the conventional crop, the organic crop has produced more tons for this time period than any previous crop.
