According to IEG Vu, tomato processors and growers reached an agreement on price for raw tomato for the 2018 season in Spain and Portugal.

In Spain, despite some processors tried to have an additional reduction of 1 Euro/metric tonne on last year's prices (about 71.5 Euro/mT), the result of negotiations in Extremadura was the same as in 2017, between 70 and 71 Euros/mT (USD 86-87,6) ex-fields. Processors have agreed to keep the prices stable compared to last year to offset the expected decline in acreage. In Andalucia, rising irrigation costs and profitable alternative crops have been taken into account to decide an increase of about three euros in raw material prices, which will be about 72-74 Euros/mT (mostly "delivered") this year.

Prices in Portugal will be higher than last year, at 74-76 Euros/mT delivered.
