In Italy, about 1,400 in children up to 14 years and 800 teenagers aged between 15 and 19 years are diagnosed with cancer (Airtum data). Support scientific research in pediatric oncology to ensure the best possible treatment for children with cancer and increase their expectations of recovery.
Children and young people who are forced to undergo long-term treatment and hospital treatment, are prevented from living a normal childhood and adolescence, made of play and light-heartedness.
That's why Fondazione Umberto Veronesi returns to the streets with his volunteers and chooses the tomato, a good and very precious food for a healthy diet, as a symbol of the fight against childhood cancer.
Thanks to the proceeds of "Tomato. Good for you, good for research", Fondazione Umberto Veronesi is committed to supporting the work of doctors and researchers involved in the identification of more effective therapies for the treatment of tumors of children and adolescents.
