Snow in Northern Xinjiang

Several sources have informed us that the Northern part of Xinjiang has been hit by very low temperatures over the last few days and of snow on 7 May. It is too early to determine to which extend it will affect the 2018 crop as fields are currently being transplanted.

In Inner Mongolia, weather conditions remain favorable and between 40 and 50% of the fields have already been transplanted. The total surface will be reduced by 10 to 20% compared with 2017, a smaller reduction than in Xinjiang.
