In November 2019, we published the following articles:

  • In California, the crop was reduced due to weather conditions.
  • In Spain, the crop has achieved record levels this year, with an average yield locally exceeding 100 mT/ha.

  • A trade agreement between EU and Singapore has been endorsed and will be effective from 21st November.
  • In Turkey, the commercial context is becoming increasingly restricted, and the export shipments saw a significant decline this last year.
  • The USDA issued a federal order imposing restrictions on see imports, in order to prevent the introduction of the ToBRFV in the USA.
  • Results were lower than originally forecasted for Agrofusion this year.
  • The Spanish food company GBFoods acquired the European group Continental Foods, its entire portfolio of culinary local brands and its five production facilities.
  • Customers are looking for new (online) tools, like Open Food Facts, to guide them in choosing the products they buy. 5 European countries went even further by deploying the Nutri-Score system.
  • The Open Foods Facts database has been since used by a number a food related applications such as Yuka, which now has more than 8.5 million users. Nestle announced it will use Nutri-Score in Europe, and The Netherlands intend to recommend its use as of 2021.
