• BBC presented a report alleging that some of the "Italian" tomatoes purees sold in the UK supermarkets appeared to contain tomatoes grown and harvested in China. All the supermarkets concerned by this accusation dispute these findings.
• The US added 29 Chinese companies to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act entity list, bringing it to a total of 107. Of those 29 additional companies, one is producing tomato products.

• In the UAE, the agri-business company Pure Harvest launches its own brand of 100% natural tomato sauces.

• The 12^th edition of Il Filo Rosso took place early December. The main issues addressed were the difficult tomato campaign, the imbalance of raw material price, the unfair competition from non-EU countries and proposals to protect and support the supply chain.
• Italy is asking Europe to intervene in order to stop environmental and social dumping.
• A new study found that water-soluble tomato concentrate (WSTC) has anti-hypertensive properties, as well as other beneficial effects.
• The OI Pomodoro Nord elected Giuseppe Romanini as president for the period 2025-2027, succeeding Tiberio Rabboni.
• The Italian-based Valfrutta renewed its range of purees and pulps in an eco-sustainable packaging, polylaminate.

• California tomato processing capacity should stay stable, in spite of the closing of Del Monte Foods' Hanford facility.
• Chilean and French scientists are in search of sponsors to grow tomatoes in space, so that they can understand how the plants can adapt to extreme conditions.
• Peru has become the 11^th exporter of tomato paste.
• Researchers from Brown University identified molecular mechanisms to make the tomato plants more heat tolerant.

• The Italian based ISI Sementi and the Israeli based Top Seeds International announced their plan to merge in 2025.
