The capacity of Mutti's Montechiarugolo plant will soon be increased by 74%.

In January, Mutti announced its intention to increase the production capacity of its Montechiarugolo plant. The project will increase the plant's daily production capacity from the current 3,200 tonnes of finished products per day to a maximum capacity of 4,300 tonnes during the summer processing season, which would require an increase of 7,500 to 8,000 tonnes of raw tomatoes to be processed daily.

The main actions necessary to achieve this objective are the expansion of the buildings that house production, the reinforcement of the industrial tool and the installation of new lines and related equipment, with an increase in the potential of the heating unit, an expansion of the storage areas and the construction of two new waste-water treatment units.

Mutti is one of the oldest food operators in the Parma region, specializing in the production of pastes, pulps, purees and sauces. During the 2022 season, the company processed 603,000 tonnes of tomatoes into various products that were supplied to about 100 countries.
