The 2023 California Processing Tomato harvest has begun very slowly.

According to the report published today by CLFP, the cumulative tonnage processed as of 22 July was 222,626 short tons (201,963 metric tonnes) whereas it was already 1,116,541 short tons (1,012,428 metric tonnes) at the same date in 2022. 
 


 

A projected crop of 538,492 short tons (488,512 metric tonnes) was expected for week ending 29 July, to be compared with 674,730 short tons (612,105 metric tonnes) processed during the same week in 2022.
