According to figures collected by PTAB, the California’s 2023 processing tomato harvest tonnage for the week fifteen (ending October 21st) is estimated to deliver 679,093 t (metric tonnes) (748,572 short tons) to the factories.
Week sixteen (ending October 28th) is estimated to be 554,575 t (611,314 short tons) which would bring the year-to-date total to an estimated 11,334,388 t (12,494,024 short tons).
For actual tonnes delivered (10.1 million t) through week fourteen, California is tracking above (+5.9%) the five year average (9,534 million t).
Data collected by PTAB for week twelve (ending October 14) show that YTD solids amounted to 5.18 compared to 5.26 for the same time period in the 2022 season or 0.08 lower. There were 447,398 loads delivered as of October 14, 2023, or 40,002 more than in 2022 for the same time period.

The 2023 California Organic processing tomato deliveries for the week fourteen (ending October 14th) were 8,879 t (9,788 short tons). The total tons YTD for week fourteen is 578,890 t (638,117 short tons), or 5.7% of the actual total delivered quantities.

If the weekly projections come true, the projected quantities on October 28 would represent more than 104% of the California processors' target (10.89 million t), which means that the quantities harvested have already exceeded the amount expected by operators in the sector.
