The harvest season started at the same time as last year, with an important quantity of organic tomatoes. Figures collected by the PTAB show that California processing tomato deliveries are now decreasing.
For week eleven (ending September 12th) PTAB is estimating 819,424 metric tonnes (t) (903,260 short tons) were delivered to the factories. Week twelve (ending September 19th) is estimated to be 766,613 t (845,046 short tons) which would bring the year-to-date total to an estimated 7,663,082 t (8,447,102 short tons).
The 2026 California Organic processing tomato deliveries for the week ten (ending September 5th) were 24,501 t (27,008 short tons).
If the weekly projections come true, the projected quantities on September 19 would represent approximately 84.5% of the California processors’ target (9.072 million t) and would be 9.1% below the average quantities delivered on the same date last year, and 1.95% below the average quantities delivered in the last 5 years.
