Label pigments from tomato pomace
On the occasion of Earth Day, Agromonte introduced “The Earth Label,” a limited edition of its ready-to-use cherry tomato sauce that transforms tomato processing waste into a resource for packaging.
The project is part of the Sicilian company’s sustainable innovation journey and aims to enhance the value of tomato skins, seeds, and processing residues through a recovery process that makes it possible to obtain a natural pigment used for printing the labels.
The result is packaging with strong visual and tactile impact, characterized by warm, irregular tones that evoke the natural qualities of the raw material and its connection to the product’s land of origin.

According to the company, the initiative represents a concrete example of a circular economy applied to food packaging, where waste becomes an integral part of the production cycle rather than material to be discarded. This approach helps reduce environmental impact while strengthening the brand’s sustainability narrative.
The limited edition is distributed through large-scale retail channels and stands out from the traditional line thanks to the label’s experimental design, which serves not only a functional role but also a communicative one.
