On July 18, the CTGA has agreed a price of USD75 per short ton (USD82.7 per metric tonne or 74.2 euro per metric tonne) with the following processors for the 2019 season:
- Campbells Soup Company
- Los Gatos Tomato Products
- Ingomar Packing Company
- ConAgra Brands, Inc.
Late Season Premiums are as follows:
9/15 – 9/21 $0.00 per net ton
9/22 – 9/28 $4.00 per net ton
9/29 – 10/5 $8.00 per net ton
10/6 – 10/12 $12.00 per net ton
10/13 – end $16.00 per net ton
The rest of the terms are the same as 2018 Master Agreement.
As a reminder, CTGA reached agreement with Stanislaus Food Products at USD75.50 per short ton (USD83.2 per metric tonne) on May 30, and with the following Late Season Premiums:
9/15 – 9/21 $3.00 per net ton
9/22 – 9/28 $6.00 per net ton
9/29 – 10/5 $9.00 per net ton
10/6 – 10/12 $12.00 per net ton
10/13 – end $15.00 per net ton
The CTGA Board "believes that given the current market and difficult crop conditions that will result in a decreased crop size for 2019, the minimum base price of $75 per ton is a fair price for all parties. "
Discussions with the other processors are continuing.
