The 14th World Tomato Processing Congress and the 16th ISHS Symposium on the Processing Tomato were scheduled to take place on March 16 to 18, 2020 in San Juan (Argentina). Unfortunately, both events were suspended at the beginning of the year due to the advent of the pandemic of Covid-19. Although an alternative date was set for November 2020, Mr. Andrés Díaz Cano, San Juan Minister of Production and Economic Development, Mr. Marcelo Balderramo, Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Agribusiness, together with Mr. Dimitris Nomikos, president of the World Processing Tomato Council (WPTC), had to make the difficult decision to postpone the events again to 6-10 March 2022.
These new dates will enable all attendees to travel safely at a time when the virus should be behind us and vaccination available if needed. Furthermore, March is also the best time of year to see tomato fields and factories running in the Province of San Juan.
WPTC looks forward to working with the government of San Juan, sponsors, speakers and all attendees to build on collective efforts to date and ensure the congress is as much of an inspiring, successful and productive experience, if not more so than it would have been in 2020.
All attendees and sponsors will be contacted individually with a personalized offer for 2022 or the option of a full refund.
