Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev recently took part in a ceremony held for the launch of a big construction project in the Andijan region: building a new plant to process and dry fruits and vegetables as well as to produce juices (this will be followed by the building of a greenhouse of 6 hectares, as well as a 255 hectares garden, to grow vegetables on 615 hectares of land, and the building of a refrigerating warehouse for the storage of 7 thousand tonnes of products).

He then presented more projects to the public:

  • A large logistics complex, organised by the Uzbek-German joint venture “Navigul” (The company produces and exports tomato paste, dried Bulgarian peppers, aubergines, apples, cherries and peaches and is based in the Khojaabad region), involving the processing, freezing and marketing of fruit and vegetable products,
  • A project involving the drying of fruit and vegetable products and a refrigerated warehouse in the farm "Obod turmush Orzusi" in the Asaka district,
  • A program for the development of the food sector in 2017-2018, implemented by Uzbekzokovakt holding and commercial banks.
