OI Pomodoro da Industria Nord Italia: Giuseppe Romanini elected president for the three-year period 2025-2027

Giuseppe Romanini is the new President of the OI Pomodoro da Industria Nord Italia, the Interprofessional Organization that brings together all the POs-producer organizations and processing companies in northern Italy. The new President was elected during the OI members' meeting held on December 9, 2024, in Parma at the headquarters of the Interprofessional Organization and succeeds Tiberio Rabboni, who has led the OI Pomodoro da Industria Nord Italia since 2016.
Giuseppe Romanini is a former member of parliament and member of the agriculture commission of the Chamber during the VXII legislature, he was councillor of the province of Parma, mayor of the municipality of Collecchio (Pr) and President of the Arrigo Boito Conservatory of Music in Parma.

“I thank the members of the OI for the trust they have placed in me,” says Giuseppe Romanini, the new President of the OI Pomodoro da Industria Nord Italia. “I am making myself available to the Interprofessional Organization with the aim of restoring strength and unity to a supply chain that is so important for northern Italy and for the entire country, after a particularly difficult campaign like that of 2024. We must work for greater stability in the supply chain, to reduce the risks of market fluctuations and seasonal difficulties also caused by climate change. The OI must be a place of transparent discussion, capable of promoting stability and growth in the long term. Respect for shared rules and dialogue must be the basis from which to start again to face the challenges of the sector and build a system of virtuous relationships that will make the supply chain grow in the coming years.”

During the OI Members’ Meeting, the two vice-presidents were also appointed: Bruna Saviotti was re-elected vice-president for the transformation part; Alessandro Piva takes over from Luigi Sidoli as vice-president for the agricultural part.
During the meeting, the new Coordination Committee was also elected with equal representation of the agricultural and industrial sectors.
