The industrial tomato supply chain is undergoing a high-tech transformation. At the forefront is La Doria Group, which has just renewed its strategic partnership with the agritech firm Evja for the 2026 season. This collaboration—now in its fifth year—is not just an operational upgrade; it is the cornerstone of a strategy that balances record-breaking financial growth with deep ethical and environmental commitments.

By utilizing a patented agronomic intelligence platform and IoT technologies to manage fields across Italy and Portugal, the two companies have deployed more than 50 microclimatic control units to move toward a truly data-driven agricultural model. This system provides a 24/7 stream of climate data, allowing for the creation of sophisticated predictive models that optimize every intervention in the field. The environmental impact recorded in 2025 was remarkable: a 43% reduction in water consumption was achieved by calculating the exact irrigation needs of the plants in real-time, preventing waste in increasingly drought-prone regions. Chemical use was also drastically optimized, with a 67% decrease in fungicide treatments and a 33% drop in insecticides, the latter made possible by electronic traps and AI-driven algorithms that recognize harmful insects before they reach threshold levels.

Furthermore, the scope of the project has expanded into holistic ecosystem management. This includes the creation of dedicated biodiversity corridors to protect pollinators and the implementation of systems to monitor and calculate CO2 emissions across the cultivated surfaces. These carbon insights are being paired with reforestation initiatives to restore deforested areas and enhance the local landscape.

Beyond the environment, the collaboration serves as a vital social safeguard. In an industry often challenged by ethical labor issues, the project has introduced concrete tools to combat illegal labor exploitation. Some supplier farms are now equipped with a digital time-stamping system featuring electronic badges to ensure precise monitoring of working hours. To empower the workforce, corporate QR codes have been introduced, giving workers immediate access to their contractual information and pay slips with reading guides available in 12 different languages, ensuring that transparency and dignity are embedded into every level of the supply chain.

This technological leap is supported by an exceptionally robust financial foundation. According to its latest consolidated financial statements, La Doria reported a total revenue of €1.375 billion for 2025, representing a 7.7% increase over the previous year. This growth was driven by a strong performance in international markets, which now account for 81.2% of consolidated revenue, and a significant 24.4% surge in domestic Italian sales. The Group’s core business remains private labels, representing 89.4% of total sales, while co-manufacturing accounts for 8.0%.

From a product perspective, the Ready-to-use Sauces line led the way with an 17.9% growth rate, followed by a strong expansion in the Pasta Line, which benefited from the strategic acquisitions of Clas S.p.A. and Pasta Lensi. The Tomato Line also contributed with a moderate 4.1% increase in revenue. These results were further bolstered by the integration of the production and logistics activities of Feger, which allowed the Group to expand its industrial base and enhance its organic and gluten-free offerings.

As the Group expands globally through the formation of the Windoria Group to target high-potential markets like the United States, its commitment to ethical governance remains a defining characteristic. This is reflected in La Doria’s EE- rating from Standard Ethics, a distinction held by only 20% of major Italian Food & Beverage companies. By aligning its financial strength with cutting-edge technology and international ESG benchmarks, La Doria is positioning itself as a strategic partner for the world’s leading retail operators, proving that industrial efficiency and deep sustainability are inseparable.
