The Australian Processing Tomato Research Council Inc. (APTRC) is primarily involved with managing and providing funds for projects that meet the industry's Research, Development and Extension priorities. The committee of the APTRC Inc. consists of 2 representatives from the 2 largest primary processing tomato companies, 4 grower representatives, a Research Manager and the Industry Development Manager, with an independent chair.
The Australian Processing Tomato Research Council Inc. (APTRC) meets 2 or more times per year. The research fund is made up of 50% voluntary grower contributions and 50% matching funds from processors. Industry research projects are generally funded by Hort Innovation, using contributions from the APTRC Inc. and funds from the Australian Government.
