Canada: Retailers interested in Ukrainian products
Considering Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement will come into force in summer 2017, Canadian divisions of global retailers – Walmart, Sobeys, Metro, Farm Boy, Loblaw, – expressed interest in sourcing Ukrainian goods. ULIE (Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs) has started search for appropriate suppliers.According to Denys Krasnikov, Vice President at the ULIE, the Canadian chains are interested in suppling numerous Ukrainian agricultural and processed products, among which tomato paste. Ukrainian goods will be sold under private label brand of Canadian retailers that won’t require any considerable expenses for marketing.
