California partial 2018 price agreement

On July 27, 2018, the California Tomato Processors Assocation (CTGA) has reached a price agreement for the 2018 season with the processors Los Gatos Tomato Products, Campbell’s Soup Company, ConAgra Foods, Del Monte Foods and Ingomar Packing Company for a base price of $73.50 per (short) ton. The base price in 2017 was $70.5.

The late Season Premiums are the same as last year and will continue to be paid on a delivered ton basis:
– September 15 – September 21: $3.00
– September 22 – September 28:  $6.00
– September 29- October 5:  $9.00
– October 6 – October 12:  $12.00
– October 13 through end of harvest: $15.00

Remaining terms are the same as 2017 with the exception of the Ingomar solids program which has been slightly modified.

As a reminder, CTGA reached agreement with Stanislaus Food Products at $75.00 per ton on February 20, 2018, and with the same Late Season Premiums and terms stated above.

Discussions continue with the other processors to reach a timely agreement for 2018 pricing.
