California: first steps for 2018 price discussions

In its bulletin dated 29 November, the CTGA (California Tomato Growers Association) released the first nine proposals it has exchanged with California tomato processors for the 2018 season. The offers range from USD 64 to USD 73.5 per short ton (sT) (EUR 59.8 – 68.6 /mT) for next season.
The CTGA’s proposal includes a base price of USD 78 /sT (close to EUR 72.8 /mT), and late season premiums as follows:
