According to PTAB, total deliveries in California plants for the last week (ending September 1st) amounted to 1,162,090 short tons (sT) (or 1,054,132 metric tonnes (mT)). This brings the total delivered in 2018 up to 7,579,318 sT (6,875,199 mT), almost 12% more than last year at the same date.
Another 1,152,582 sT (1,045,507 mT) are estimated to be delivered the week ending September 8th; if achieved, it would make seven weeks of over 1,000,000 sT harvested, and the provisional total would reach 8,731,900 sT (or 7,920,706 mT); this is 14% (1,090,550 sT) higher than last year at the same period but also 6.5% below the average of the last three seasons. Such a provisional amount represents 74% of the newly revised estimate for California 2018 season (11.8 million sT or 10.7 million mT).
 
As of 25 August, the 2018 California organic processing tomato deliveries amounted at 419,398 sT (380,436 mT), 21% higher than those of 2017 and 20% higher than those of the previous five years at the same date.
