De Cecco Finalizes €70 Million Acquisition of Tomato Producer RossoGargano

Filippo Antonio De Cecco, Chairman of the Board, “A strategic milestone for the group: it will allow us to integrate and consolidate our production chain, boosting efficiency and profitability.”

Founded in Abruzzo, Italy, in 1886, De Cecco grew from a flour mill into the world’s third-largest pasta manufacturer, pioneered by its founder’s game-changing low-temperature drying process. Beyond its signature durum wheat pasta, the global brand now produces olive oil, sauces, grains, and tomato products.

De Cecco has officially secured 100% ownership of RossoGargano in a €70 million deal, having satisfied all contractual conditions from their June 1, 2026 agreement and received full regulatory clearance. Headquartered in Foggia, RossoGargano stands as a major player in processing tomato-based goods and preserved produce.

Operating through a network of affiliated farming cooperatives, the company coordinates crop cultivation, manages raw material processing for both member farms and external suppliers, and drives commercial distribution. Beyond its strong footprint in Italy, RossoGargano has built a well-established presence across three key international markets shared with the De Cecco Group.

“We are particularly pleased to have brought this operation to a successful conclusion,” said Filippo Antonio De Cecco.

“The acquisition represents an important strategic milestone for the De Cecco Group, as it will allow us to further integrate and consolidate our supply chain, boost efficiency and profitability in a sector where we already hold a strong position, and offer consumers products whose quality is backed by direct control over the entire production cycle—from the cultivation of raw materials to market distribution. We are convinced that this transaction marks a decisive step in our group’s path toward growth and development.”
