In the context of the launch of the 2019 National Production Plan, which aims to guarantee the security of the food supply chain for Venezuela's population, the governor of the State of Guárico has announced the recommissioning of a tomato paste factory that was installed in the food industry complex of Altagracia de Orituco, in the northern part of Venezuela.
According to local press sources, the plant, which employs 150 people, had been declared bankrupt. It reportedly has a production capacity of 308 tonnes of tomato paste per month. Its production is intended for manufacturing sauces that will be distributed to Venezuelan consumers through supply centers.
