It is with great sadness that we received the announcement from Tomate BR of the death of Ivaldo Ribeiro da Silva on 3 July 2023 at the aged of 76.

 

Ivaldo was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable person in the business of tomato production and had been involved in seed production and trading in Brazil for many years. He was also one of WPTC and Tomato News main contacts for information in Brazil, and together with Paulo Cesar Tavares de Melo, hosted WPTC members during a memorable study tour in Brazil in July 2011.

The tomato sector in Brazil and worldwide will deeply miss him and remember how he had always been guided by seriousness, integrity and uprightness of character.
