Iranian processors want to set up a factory in Armenia
On 19 April, the Armenian Minister of Agriculture, Ignati Arakelyan, welcomed the leaders of several major Iranian companies operating in the greenhouse construction and tomato paste production business sectors.

The Iranian executives briefly presented their activities and expressed their significant interest in cooperating with Armenia in various areas of the agricultural sector.
The Iranian processors particularly expressed their desire to set up a tomato products processing plant in Armenia, with the aim of exporting their production to other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Belorussia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan).

The Iranian leaders also mentioned that they are considering signing contracts with Armenian growers in order to guarantee the tomato production required for supplying the plant. Minister Arakelyan expressed his intention to help the partners involved to organize their cultivation of tomatoes and set up a structure able to produce tomato paste in Armenia, and he asked Iranian processors to prepare a development plan.
